nova-Institute and bioplastics MAGAZINE published the 5th edition of the International Business Directory for Innovative Bio-based Materials, iBIB2014/15, and continue the success story of the state-of-the-art B2B directory. The latest edition provides a comprehensive picture of the bio-based economy and presents 65 major companies, associations, agencies, engineering and research institutes as well as certifiers from 15 countries on 4 continents: www.bio-based.eu/iBIB.
Biocomposites: 350,000 t production of wood and natural fibre composites in the European Union in the year 2012. The most important applications sectors are construction (decking, siding and fencing) and automotive interior parts. Between 10 – 15% of the total composite market is covered by Wood-Plastic Composites (WPC) and Natural Fibres Reinforced Composites (NFC).
Make sure you’re visible and findable in the bio-based world! The iBIB2012/13 international business directory enables industrial suppliers and customers to get in touch with each other. It contains information on about 80 major companies, associations and R&D organisations from 19 countries on 6 continents, 155 pages.
First part of the report on the R&D project “Environmental Innovation Policy: more efficient resource use and climate protection through sustainable material use of biomass”. This publication was produced as part of the UBA project “Environmental innovation policy - more efficient resource use and climate protection through sustainable material use of biomass” and provides an overview of the available basic data for material use in Germany, Europe and worldwide.
The iBIB2011 will enable industrial suppliers and customers to reach out with one another. New markets such as bio-based plastics, composites and green additives are mostly based on 'insider-knowledge' and therefore lack transparency. The iBIB2011 will help firms to find the best bio-based solutions available worldwide. 70 companies, associations, R&D from 16 countries, 136 pages.
A new study from the nova-Institut shows higher resource efficiency, climate protection, improved security of raw material supplies and employment benefits through the increased material use of agricultural and forest products. Realignment of the policy framework supporting renewable resources is required. Already downloads.
This article provides some basic facts for the discussion about the implications of using arable land for bioplastics. Globally, there is in fact enough arable land available: hunger & malnutrition have mainly other reasons than land use competition & current land use for bioplastics is with 0,1% not more than marginal.
(www.biowerkstoff.info)
