Meta-Analysis of life cycle assessments (LCA) for bio-polymers

The project pursues the goal to assess the depletion of fossil resources and the emission of greenhouse gases in the production of bio-polymers. Therefore, life cycle assessments (LCA) for polylactic acid (PLA) and polyhydroxyalcanoates (PHA) are gathered and evaluated by means of meta-analysis. The results of the project are used to describe environmental advantages and disadvantages of bio-based products in comparison to their petroleum based counterparts.
